Kent Murawski Full Bio
Most of Kent Murawski's clients are not failing. They are hitting their numbers, running real companies, and are respected by the people who work for them. They are winning at work but losing at home, and often losing their health and themselves along with it. Kent has spent more than two decades inside that gap as a founder and leader, and now as an executive coach, author, and speaker. He works with owners, CEOs, and executives who want to keep growing the company without it costing them the things a scoreboard cannot measure.
He built the RHYTHMS OF REST℠ framework on a simple picture. A heart has four chambers, and blood flows only when all four work together. A leader's life works the same way, on four rhythms: Relational, Emotional, Spiritual (faith or a philosophy of life), and Tangible. When one rhythm fails, the others cover for it until they can't. The framework runs through Kent's 1:1 coaching practice, The RESTed Leader (a year-long group coaching program), his keynotes and workshops, and his forthcoming book.
A nervous breakdown at 27, and another near miss at 39, are where the framework was born. It is built on Kent's own experience and years of coaching owners and executives through the same pattern.
Kent has led or founded three organizations, written two books, and spoken on four continents. He hosts the RHYTHMS OF REST℠ leadership podcast and writes the RHYTHMS OF REST℠ newsletter, published every other week. His third book, built around the same four rhythms, releases February 17, 2027. He is based in the Boston area.
Press Kit—Suggested Interview Questions
Grounded in the manuscript. Ordered so each builds on the last, though any of them stands alone. A one-line note under each shows what it opens up.
- You had a breakdown at 27 that changed everything. What actually happened, and what does everyone get wrong about it?
- Kent's own story, kept to the facts, not the theory.
- You say burnout isn't from doing too much. What is it from?
- The book's actual definition of burnout, built from six years coaching owner CEOs through it.
- Rest isn't doing nothing, so what is it, and where do high achievers get this wrong?
- Why rest is structural, not a reward for finishing the work. It’s not always taking away, it’s adding things that replenish you.
- What's the actual difference between balance and rhythm, and why does chasing "balance" set leaders up to fail?
- The core reframe the whole book is built on.
- Most high achievers think if they just found better balance, they'd be fine. Why is that belief itself part of what keeps them stuck?
- Burnout is a symptom. Instead of treating the root, balance is a broken frame meant to treat a symptom.
- Walk us through the four rhythms: relational, emotional, spiritual, tangible. What happens when someone's missing just one?
- The framework itself, in under five minutes. Not explained deeply, but a snapshot.
- Leaders usually diagnose the rhythm that's making the most noise. Most of the time, that's the wrong rhythm. It's covering for one that's actually failing underneath. What are some of the most common versions of that misdiagnosis, and how does someone catch it in themselves?
- The misdiagnosis pattern behind almost every stuck client. Ask what’s really happening here? Brandon, Val, Me - control is an illusion, can’t rest until…
- Who is this book for, and just as important, who is it not for?
- Where Kent draws the line, and why.
- What's the one rhythm most high-functioning leaders neglect without realizing it?
- Usually the one nobody schedules time for (fun and hobbies under Emotional) - may tie into question 5
- What's the belief about yourself you had to let go of before any of this actually started working?" Personal and identity-level — nothing to test alone first.
- The illusion of control. That I’m in control of anything but myself. Kent will share the story of his epiphany that set him on the path to wholeness rather than balance.
- What do you say to an overachieving leader thinking, 'I should be able to figure this out myself'?
- The wellness industry (6.3 trillion dollars per year) has spent the last 10 years telling us to do self care, be vulnerable, meditate, eat right, and exercise and executives and employees have gotten more burned out not less. The problem is your operating from the wrong frame.
- If a listener does exactly one thing after this conversation, what should it be?
- There is no one thing you should do. Start by reframing the problem, burnout is a symptom and balance is a bandaid. A clean, concrete close for the episode - CTA the RHYTHMS OF REST Assessment, a less than 3-minute diagnostic that will tell you which rhythm is broken and give you ONE next step to start repairing your rhythms.
A few more, if you want additional runway
- You call yourself an executive coach, not a wellness practitioner. Why does that distinction matter to you?
- The positioning question, answered directly.
- The Spiritual rhythm sits right next to the practical ones in your framework. How do you make that land for a leader who isn't religious?
- How the framework works for a secular audience.
- You talk about finding a keystone rhythm. What is that, and how does someone find theirs?
- The starting point Kent gives every new client.
- You coach CEOs and executives of seven and eight-figure companies. Does fixing rhythm actually move the numbers, or is this about feeling better?
- The business case, not just the personal one. Val, Jesh, James

Kent has led or founded three organizations, written two books, and spoken on four continents. His third book, built around the same four rhythms, is forthcoming in early 2027.

The Four Rhythms
| Rhythm | What it measures | What it looks like when it is off |
|---|---|---|
| R Relational | The quality of the connections you carry into work and into the house. Spouse, kids, team, peers, mentors. | You are physically at dinner. You are not at dinner. Your team brings you the safe questions and saves the real ones for each other. |
| E Emotional | Your ability to name what you are feeling, hold it without spilling it on the team, and lead from a clear center. | Your mood from the last hard call goes home with you. Your wife knows what kind of day you had before you say a word. |
| S Spiritual | The deeper frame underneath the work. Sabbath. Purpose. The thing the work is actually for. | You have not stopped for a day in three months. When you do stop, you do not know what to do with yourself. |
| T Tangible | Your body, your money, your time, your environment. The container the other three rhythms have to live inside. | The fitness slipped. The sleep slipped. The schedule owns you. You keep promising the rest of you that this is temporary. |
